Role Overview

Our client is seeking a skilled and visionary ECE Centre Manager to lead their beautiful, well-regarded centre based in North Shore. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a passionate and established team to success, shaping the educational experience of young learners while maintaining the centre’s strong community connections and commitment to quality. You will work in a supportive, inclusive environment where continuous improvement and high-quality learning are prioritised.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and develop a high-performing team of early childhood educators
  • Ensure compliance with NZ ECE regulations, licensing requirements, and health & safety standards
  • Implement and oversee quality educational practices aligned with Te Whāriki curriculum
  • Manage budget, staffing, and operational aspects of the centre
  • Foster positive relationships with families, whānau, and the local community
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide professional development opportunities for staff
  • Maintain and promote a culture of inclusivity, cultural respect, and continuous improvement

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Valid ECE teacher qualification (Diploma or Degree in ECE, or equivalent registered teacher status)
  • At least 2 years’ experience as an ECE Centre Manager
  • Strong mentoring and coaching experience with educators
  • Strong knowledge of Te Whāriki and current ECE best practices
  • Demonstrated experience managing budgets and staff performance
  • Understanding of NZ ECE licensing requirements and compliance standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must hold a valid work visa and be currently in New Zealand
